Good Luck in your AS Psychology Exam (and some last minute tips!)
ALevelPsychology.co.uk would like to wish everyone who is sitting tomorrow's AS exam the best of luck. To help you along, I have compiled a list of exam tips:
- It may seem obvious, but read the instructions carefully. Many students have come unstuck because they answered 2 questions from the same section instead of one question from each.
- If you are sitting the AQA-A exam, make sure that you answer part (c) for both questions. You only have a very slim chance of passing if you miss out a part (c). Time your answers (one minute per mark) or do part (c) of the exam question first.
- Choose the question with the part (c) that you can give the best answer to (AQA-A).
- Include enough detail in your part (a) and (b) exam answers; do not use bullet points because they lead you towards omitting important details.
- Do not forget to use commentary in part (c) answers. If you have included a study, write 'this shows that...' afterwards and say how it relates to the theory you are discussing.
- Remember, in part (c) two-thirds of the marks are for commentary and evaluation and only one-third is for description, so do twice as much evaluation and commentary as description.
That's all I can think of for now. If you have any tips, leave a comment below.
